Frequently asked questions

Can I select my building?

No. Like other incoming students, you will be assigned randomly to a residence hall.

Can I select my roommate?

If you and another incoming student would like to request to live together, you can create a roommate group.

If you want to request to room with a current student, please email us at residentiallife@augustana.edu. Note that since available space is limited, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to honor roommate requests.

How do I request medical accommodations for housing?

If you have a medical condition that requires a particular accommodation, please complete the medical accommodation form and attach supporting documentation by Dec. 18 to ensure that you receive an assignment that meets your needs.

Do all of the halls have air conditioning?

Not all residence halls have air conditioning. While the first few weeks of the school year are warm, the weather during the spring semester ranges from comfortable to cold. If you require air conditioning due to a medical condition, please submit a medical accommodation request.

How does laundry work?

You can buy a laundry card from the Office of Residential Life or from kiosks in Westerlin, the Gerber Center, or Swanson. The laundry card works like a debit card. Laundry costs $1.25 to wash and $1.25 to dry. More information about laundry can be on our laundry page
