John Henry Hauberg was a researcher and photographer active in the Quad-City area in the early 20th century. He compiled some 150 unpublished volumes of Illinois history over the course of his life. This project will target 1,500 of the most historically significant glass plate images related to Native American culture and landscapes, Quad-Cities scenes, the Rock Island Arsenal, Black Hawk State Historic Site, and the Denkmann-Hauberg West End Settlement in Rock Island.

Anderson currently is an associate director of procurement finance at Kraft-Heinz Foods in Northfield, Ill. Anderson will assume his new role at 365体育投注_365体育备用网址@ in December.

Lecture to address immigrant backlash in a nation of immigrants

Dr. Peter Kivisto, Richard A. Swanson Professor of Social Thought at 365体育投注_365体育备用网址@ 365体育投注_365体育备用网址@, will give the annual O. Fritiof Ander Lecture in Immigration History on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. in Hanson 102. In his talk, "Immigrant Backlash in the Nation of Immigrants," Dr. Kivisto will discuss immigration patterns to the United States during the past 50 years, and the present tension between immigrants.

Free training for parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Thanks to a generous $20,000 donation from Royal Ball Run, 365体育投注_365体育备用网址@ 365体育投注_365体育备用网址@’s Center for Speech, Language, and Hearing is able to offer a free parent training program that provides classroom and home-based instruction to improve communication with their children. Because of the funding from Royal Ball, the center can offer interested families full scholarships for the second year in a row.

'Machinal' portrays woman's rebellion against role in society

365体育投注_365体育备用网址@ 365体育投注_365体育备用网址@ will present the play "Machinal," the story of a woman's rebellion again her husband and society, Oct. 16-18 and 23-25. The journalist and playwright, Sophie Treadwell, often wrote about the women's issues of her time and her Mexican heritage.
